Who we are
Founded in 2018, Miss Curvy Ultimate Services Zambia (MCUSzambia) is a Pan-African Non-Governmental Organization headquartered in Lusaka, Zambia. With a focus on rural communities, we empower marginalized youth and women through education, skills development, and economic initiatives.
We operate in Zambia and are expanding across Southern Africa. Our programmes align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, driving systemic change in education, poverty reduction, and community resilience.
Mission
To break cycles of poverty in marginalized African communities by delivering transformative education in mathematics and sciences, fostering sustainable and healthy livelihoods, and providing holistic support to cultivate innovators, entrepreneurs, and ethical leaders.
Vision
By 2040, rural African schools will be hubs of ingenuity, nurturing resilient leaders who champion sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and inclusive economic growth across the continent.

Where the name comes from
Miss Curvy Machabaphala
Khathutshelo Lana Machabaphala was a woman from the deep rural areas of Limpopo, South Africa. Community members nicknamed her “Miss Curvy Machabaphala” because of her dedication to talking to and mentoring young girls who were bullied at school for having a body like hers — at a time, in the late 1990s, when that bullying was at its peak.
She had not been educated herself. She helped those girls with mathematics and science anyway, in free lessons, because some of them wanted to drop out — bullied, and without the basics they needed for school.
In 2006 she met Mr. Langisi, and under her mentorship he came to see what education, love and unity could do. She planned to start a movement to transform education for rural schools across Africa by 2013, and she saved towards it.
In November 2011, breast cancer took her. The plan never started. Her work had never been recognised by any government, never covered anywhere, never awarded anything.
In 2018, Mr. Langisi started Miss Curvy Ultimate Services in Zambia and carried her vision into it. The organisation is named after a woman most records have no entry for.

2027
Short term
- Partner with 7 to 15 rural schools in Zambia and Malawi, and train 500+ teachers in STEM pedagogy.
- Improve student academic performance by 35% in sciences and mathematics through enhanced curricula and resources.
- Provide clean water, sanitation facilities and medical access to 1,000+ children in rural schools.
- Deliver 5,000+ daily nutritious meals through school feeding programmes.
- Secure $280,924 in funding to scale operations.
- Invite over 200 mathematics and sciences teachers from abroad to volunteer in rural African schools.
2027–2030
Medium term
- Expand to 25–30 rural schools across several countries and launch a digital learning platform for remote education.
- Increase rural school transitions to higher education or employment by 35%.
- Scale to 15,000+ daily meals and expand medical access to 500+ more children.
- Begin constructing clinics at rural schools.
2030–2040
Long term
- Construct 10 eco-friendly schools across Africa and reach 50,000+ students with meals.
